Yes! All the car care services we offer can be done right in your driveway. Our Fixxr mobile mechanics carry all the tools, scanners and lifts to do most repairs at your home or office. We offer a host of services for you to choose from, from simple jobs such as oil changes and replacing brakes to more complex repairs like replacing timing belts. As long as you have a driveway, parking lot or garage, you can use this extremely convenient service.
In instances where a service or repair is not possible to complete at your home or office we will communicate this to you upfront and advise how we are still able to assist you.

Our Fixxr mobile mechanics come to you and provide services at the convenience of your home or office. We do not have a shop location where you can bring your car. We feel this adds the convenience to allow you to choose where we need to be and not the other way around.
In instances where a more complex repair is required (like an engine overhaul) we will match you to a Fixxr mobile mechanic who has a workshop with the required resources to perform the repair.

Our Fixxr mobile mechanics set their own hours, but in most of our service areas, Fixxr mobile mechanics are available from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week (depending on mechanic availability and scheduling). Their availability is one of the criteria we use to evaluate a Fixxr mobile mechanics suitability for our platform.
You can request an estimate online by selecting your location, car, and services. We will give you a price upfront of the complete estimate for your car for the services you selected. You will see the breakdown of the cost for each service. There will never be any surprises or hidden costs. If an upfront price is not available, we will send you a quote within 24 hours, usually sooner.
We don’t charge for our services based on time. We give you a fair and transparent quote, and you pay the same price whether it takes less or more time for the Fixxr mobile mechanic to complete the service (within reason of course). We calculate the price based on an estimated time and we apply a labor rate that varies by city and make of car — it can be anywhere between R400 – R700 depending on where you live and the make of car you required serviced (the scarcer the expertise in your area will dictate the price we need to charge in order to ensure quality work is always performed).
As a network of Fixxr mobile mechanics, we don’t have overhead costs like shops and dealers. The bigger the service, the more you save. For smaller services (e.g., oil changes), the cost may be slightly higher (or similar) to local shops because our Fixxr mobile mechanics must earn a minimum amount to justify the cost of travelling to you. If you value your time, the convenience of a Fixxr mobile mechanic coming to you may easily justify spending a little more than local shops on those smaller services. And of course, you will always get a fair and transparent price before you book a service.
We don’t charge a call-out fee or convenience fee. There two fees we charge – a service fee and a travel fee.
Service fees are added to each booking and cover the logistics of facilitating your booking (for example, courier costs to get the needed parts to your assigned mobile mechanic).
Travel fees are charged where we don’t have a Fixxr mobile mechanic in your immediate vicinity but have negotiated for other Fixxr mobile mechanics to travel to you. The further away from you the Fixxr mobile mechanic is the higher the travel fee. This fee is billed to cover the extra distance your mechanic needs to travel to get to you.
Both these fees (and any other costs/fees) will always be communicated to you upfront and included in your quote for your acceptance.
You may cancel your booking up to 24 hours before your booking is scheduled. No charges will be charged for cancellations made 48 hours before your scheduled booking. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your booking you will be charged R200 as a cancellation fee. Any cancellations made on your scheduled booking date and time will be invoiced to you as per our original quote.
Our Fixxr mobile mechanics do not expect a tip of any kind. Instead of leaving a tip, please recommend your Fixxr mobile mechanic to all your friends. You may also want to leave a review about the service you received.
You’re always in control. If our Fixxr mobile mechanic finds your car doesn’t need all the services you requested, we’ll remove those unneeded services and lower your bill, right on the spot, and refund you (either as a credit on your Fixxr account that you can use on your next service or refunded into a bank account of your choice). If your car needs additional repair services, our Fixxr mobile mechanic will provide you with details of what you need. This will be compiled into a report provided to you with a supporting quote where applicable. You can decide to accept or decline those additional services.
Yes. We charge a fee to come to you and diagnose your car. This fee covers the inspection and diagnostic time and cost of driving to you. The fee is based on the type of diagnostic inspection you require. All our diagnostic services are listed in plain language to make it easier for you to select the diagnostic inspection that matches your car issue. If your car has a problem, you can book a Fixxr mobile mechanic to perform a diagnostic. A Fixxr mobile mechanic will come to your location and inspect your car. Our Fixxr mobile mechanics go through a step-by-step process to rule out or confirm any part(s) failures. Diagnosing a problem is a process. Sometimes the only way to prove that a part is defective is to replace it and recheck the car. Your Fixxr mobile mechanic will diagnose the car and then provide preliminary recommendations and needed repairs, based on their visual inspection and any tests performed. All this information will be compiled into an inspection report that will be provided to you. The inspection report may include photos, test results, audio notes, recommended services, and a repair estimates (if applicable).
You can book an appointment for a Fixxr mobile mechanic to come out to you and inspect your car. They will provide their inspection report and recommend services or repairs that your car needs.

The parts team at Fixxr has gone through a rigorous filtering process to select the brands that are best suited for your car. Our parts catalog has a list of approved brands for each type of car and each type of part. We take pride in having a network of Fixxr mobile mechanics that use high-quality parts. Whenever possible, the parts used are OE parts or aftermarket parts that meet or exceed OEM service specifications.
We don’t engage in the business of supplying or installing used parts. Only in very rare cases do the Fixxr mobile mechanics in our network ever use remanufactured parts — usually in older cars where the parts manufacturers have discontinued the production of new parts. In those rare cases, the parts will be clearly marked as “remanufactured” on your quote.
Where remanufactured or used parts are used this will impact the warranty we typically offer – please review our warranty policy to understand this impact.
We don’t engage in the business of sourcing parts from junkyards or car-recyclers. In most cases, we prefer not to install parts that are used or sourced from junkyards due to liability issues.
In instances where parts are difficult to source or OE parts are out of your budget and a part is available via a junkyard or car-recycler you as the client have the choice to explicitly ask us to source your part via a junkyard or car-recycler. In instances where a part from these sources are used the typical warranty offer by Fixxr is voided.
We buy parts from several vendors — from local vendors to wholesale suppliers across the country, allowing you to receive high-quality parts at reasonable prices. Whenever possible, we prefer OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or OE-equivalent parts, and we think they’re better for your car. We also offer high-quality aftermarket parts, often from the same manufacturer as the original parts.
We actively work on providing you the best possible parts at competitive prices.
Yes, you are welcome to buy your own parts and book one of our Fixxr mobile mechanics to install them. When providing your details please indicate that you will be providing your own parts and your final quote/invoice will be reduced by the value of the parts. Note, when you provide your own parts, any warranty offered by Fixxr is voided.
We always try our best to ensure the parts provided for your car are both competitively priced and correct.
Where the parts sourced are incorrect we will work with our Fixxr mobile mechanic to identify the nearest part supplier from our network to replace the incorrect part. We will always try to sort this out within the allocated time for your service.
In instances where, due to part availability, this is not possible we will communicate this with you and arrange a time that is both convenient for you and where the correct parts are available.
If the correct part is cheaper or more expensive than the one you were originally quoted on you will either be refunded or invoiced for the difference.
We offer a range of online payment methods. You can select your preferred method of payment during the checkout process or via your acount.

When booking online payment methods are the only supported payment methods. In this way, all payments remain transparent and your booking is confirmed immediately.
This is entirely up to you – you can select to pay the full amount or pay a deposit when completing the booking process.
We do allow you to make an initial deposit to secure your booking with the balance of the monies due on successful completion of the requested services.
Fixxr is a network of expert mobile mechanics (or Fixxr’s as we refer to them). Independent mechanics apply to join our network. Every mechanic goes through an extensive screening process that includes background, criminal, and reference checks. Once approved, mechanics are booked for jobs through Fixxr.
Your service agreement is with Fixxr, not the individual mechanic. Although you are provided the service by the mechanics in our network, we stand behind the service 100%. Fixxr mobile mechanics are screened through a two-step process once an application request is made:
Step 1: We perform a background check, skills check, and a one-on-one interview with the potential mobile mechanic.
Step 2: If the mobile mechanic passes the screening process, we onboard them onto the platform and allow them to accept bookings from customers. Our Fixxr mobile mechanics are rated by you, the customer, after every booking to ensure the highest service standards are upheld. Should a Fixxr mobile mechanic not uphold the required standards of quality workmanship and awesome customer service they will be removed from the platform.
Most of our Fixxr mobile mechanics are certified or have extensive dealer or factory training. You can view a public profile for your assigned mechanic where information about their experience, work history, jobs completed for other car owners and real customers’ ratings and reviews. We take pride in being totally transparent.
When confirming your appointment we will ensure you are matched with a Fixxr mobile mechanic who is qualified to work on your car. Many of our Fixxr mobile mechanics have dealer or factory training with certain brands. Some of them have years of experience working on certain types of cars (e.g. German cars, domestic cars, etc). You can see their particular strengths and expertise on their profiles, as well as reviews from previous customers.
Each Fixxr Maintenance or Service Plan includes a defined set of services that are typically expected to keep your car in tip-top shape. To check what services are covered refer to the plan you are interested in for details of what is included.
You are eligible for a Fixxr Maintenance or Service Plan if, at the date of purchase, your car:
Your Fixxr Maintenance or Service Plan is a fixed-term plan. It runs for a period of 24 months from the date of subscribing.

The free diagnostic available as part of both our Maintenance Plan and Service Plan will be available for use from the start of your selected plan.

Full details of cancellation procedures are available in the Maintenance or Service Plan booklet provided when the plan is purchased.
Manufacturers require that you service your car after a specific number of kilometres (e.g. every 15 000 km) or at specific time intervals. In order to make it as easy as possible for you, we will send you reminders of when certain services are due based on your current mileage. Refer to your owners manual and the Maintenance/Service plan booklet for details of when certain services will be due.
While this option is not available via the online booking process you can still make payments via EFT. Send us an email to request EFT details on [email protected].
