FIXXR provides car care services at the convenience of your home or office. Our expert, highly rated FIXXR’s provide services in and around Johannesburg currently but will expand to your area as demand dictates.
The service is not only convenient, it’s also more affordable. Since our FIXXR’s are mobile, we have significantly lower overhead costs compared to traditional car service shops. We pass these savings on to you – our amazing clients.
Through our website (with an app in the pipeline in the near future), you can get estimates on the cost on a host of car care services, book these services, and conveniently manage when and where your service will be performed.

How does FIXXR work?
- Simply request a quote by providing your location, car, and services needed
- In most cases, we will give you an instant quote based on your car make. We will confirm this quote with you if any variance occurs due to models we might not cover yet. If an instant price is not available, we will send you a quote within one business day, often sooner.
- You can book an appointment by selecting a time that is convenient for you. FIXXR’s are available 7 days a week, 7am to 7pm. You will be matched with a FIXXR who has the necessary expertise to perform the work on your car. Only customers who have completed an appointment with us can write a review — this guarantees that all reviews are from real customers.
- To confirm the appointment payment of your quote amount is required prior to a FIXXR being dispatched as booked. This is to ensure that there are no unnecessary surprises to you or us.
- Your FIXXR will perform the service at the convenience of your home or office. A parking space, driveway, or garage is required (preferably on a flat surface as well); FIXXR’s cannot perform work on the street.
- You provide a review of the experience you had with our FIXXR so we get real feedback about your experience which we will use to evaluate our FIXXR’s and our overall offering to you. Our aim is to use and offer only the best of the best service to you!
Can a FIXXR really fix my car at my home or office?
Yes! All the car care services we offer can be done right in your driveway. Our FIXXR’s carry all the tools, scanners and lifts to do most repairs at your home or office. We offer a host of services for you to choose from, from simple jobs such as oil changes and replacing brakes to more complex repairs like replacing timing belts. As long as you have a driveway, parking lot or garage, you can use this extremely convenient service.

Do you have a shop where I can bring my car?
Our FIXXR’s come to you and provide services at the convenience of your home or office. We do not have a shop location where you can bring your car. We feel this adds the convenience to allow you to choose where we need to be and not the other way around.

What are FIXXR's operating hours?
Our FIXXR’s set their own hours, but in most of our service areas, FIXXR’s are available from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. Their availability is one of the criteria we use to evaluate a FIXXR’s suitability for our platform.
How can I get an estimate for the services I need?
You can request an estimate online by selecting your location, car and services. In most cases, we will give you a price instantly. You will see the breakdown of the cost for each service. There will never be any surprises or hidden costs. If an instant price is not available, we will send you a quote within 24 hours, usually sooner.
What is your hourly rate?
We don’t charge for our services based on time. We give you a fair and transparent price quote, and you pay the same price whether it takes less or more time for the FIXXR to complete the service (within reason of course). We calculate the price based on an estimated time and we apply a labor rate that varies by city and make of car — it can be anywhere between R300 – R700 depending on where you live and the make of car you required serviced (the scarcer the expertise in your area will dictate the price we need to charge in order to ensure quality work is always performed).
Is it really cheaper than going to shops and dealers?
As a network of FIXXR’s, we don’t have overhead costs like shops and dealers. The bigger the service, the more you save. For smaller services (e.g., oil changes), the cost may be slightly higher (or similar) to local shops because our FIXXR’s must earn a minimum amount to justify the cost of travelling to you. If you value your time, the convenience of a FIXXR coming to you may easily justify spending a little more than local shops on those smaller services. And of course, you will always get a fair and transparent price before you book a service.
Are there any additional fees for the FIXXR to come to my location?
No. We don’t charge a call-out fee or convenience fee.
Is there a cancellation fee?
You may cancel your appointment up to 24 hours before your appointment is scheduled. No charges will be charged for cancellations made 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. If you cancel between 48 and 24 hours before your appointment you will be charged R100 as a cancellation fee. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will be invoiced to you as per our original quote to you.
Should I tip my FIXXR?
Our FIXXR’s do not expect a tip of any kind. Instead of leaving a tip, please recommend the FIXXR to all your friends. You may also want write a review about the awesome service you received.
What if the FIXXR finds that my car needs more or less services than I had requested?
You’re always in control. If our FIXXR finds your car doesn’t need all the services you requested, we’ll remove those unneeded services and lower your bill, right on the spot and refund you (either as a credit on your next service or refunded into a bank account of your choice). If your car needs additional repair services, our FIXXR will provide you with an itemized list of what you need. You can decide to accept or decline those additional services.
Is there a fee for a FIXXR to diagnose my car?
Yes. We charge a diagnostic fee to come to you and diagnose your car. The fee charged is based on the diagnostic/inspection being performed. You can visit our service page to see all the diagnostics/inspections we are able to assist with.
What does the diagnostic service cover?
If your car has a problem, you can book a FIXXR to perform a diagnostic. A FIXXR will come to your location and inspect your car. Our FIXXR’s go through a step-by-step process to rule out or confirm any part(s) failures. Diagnosing a problem is a process. Sometimes the only way to prove that a part is defective is to replace it and recheck the car. Your FIXXR will diagnose the car and then provide preliminary recommendations and repair estimates, based on their visual inspection and any tests performed. The inspection report may include photos, test results, audio notes, recommended services, and a service estimate (if applicable).
I don't know what is wrong with my car. What can I do?
You can book an appointment for a FIXXR to come out to you and inspect your car. They will provide their inspection report and recommend services that your car needs.
How can I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment online by selecting your location, car and services. In most cases, we will give you a quote instantly. You will see the breakdown of the cost for each service. You will also see the list of available times. To book an appointment, simply select a time that works for you and provide your location and submit a booking request. We will validate all information provided, ensure our FIXXR’s are available and confirm your booking in no more than 24 hours. At this point, you will be issued with an invoice that can be settled online using various payment methods offered by FIXXR.
How soon can I get book a FIXXR?
We have FIXXR’s available 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm. Depending on the availability of parts, we are usually able to provide services the next day, though the FIXXR’s tend to get booked rather quickly. You can see FIXXR’s availability after you request a select the services you need a quote for.
How can I reschedule an appointment?
You can reschedule your appointment using your online account no later than 24 hours before your appointment is scheduled to take place or by calling us at +27 (0)60 043 4632.
What if my FIXXR is late?
Please remember to allow up to 60 minutes for your FIXXR to arrive. Sometimes FIXXR’s get caught in traffic or a previous job takes longer than expected. We do apologize if this is the case. If you have not heard from your FIXXR by your appointment time, please give us a call at +27 (0)60 043 4632 and we will work to resolve the issue. If you need to reschedule, we will take care of this for you as well at no additional cost.
How do I know the parts are of good quality?
The parts team at FIXXR has gone through a rigorous filtering process to select the brands that are best suited for your car. Our parts catalog has a list of approved brands for each type of car and each type of part. We take pride in having a network of FIXXR’s that use high-quality parts. Whenever possible, the parts used are OE parts or aftermarket parts that meet or exceed OEM service specifications.
Do you ever use Remanufactured or used parts?
We don’t engage in the business of supplying or installing used parts. Only in very rare cases do the FIXXR’s in our network ever use remanufactured parts — usually in older cars where the parts manufacturers have discontinued the production of new parts. In those rare cases, the parts will be clearly marked as “remanufactured” on your quote.
Can you help me find parts from junkyards or auto-recyclers?
We apologize, but we don’t engage in the business of sourcing parts from junkyards or auto-recyclers. In most cases, we prefer not to install parts that are used or sourced from junkyards due to liability issues. If you ask us to source parts from a junkyard or auto-recyclers we will not offer any warranty for any work being performed.
Where are the parts coming from?
We buy parts from several vendors — from local vendors to wholesale suppliers across the country, allowing you to receive high-quality parts at reasonable prices. Whenever possible, we prefer OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or OE-equivalent parts, and we think they’re better for your car. We also offer high-quality aftermarket parts, often from the same manufacturer as the original parts.
Can I provide my own parts?
Yes, you are welcome to buy your own parts and book one of our FIXXR’s to install them. When providing your details please indicate that you will be providing your own parts and your final quote/invoice will be reduced by the value of the parts. Please note: when you provide your own parts, any warranty offered by FIXXR is voided.
How do I pay for the service?
We offer a host of different payment options – these range from credit card, debit card, instant EFT, Masterpass and even BitCoin. You can select your preferred method of payment during the payment process.
Can I pay via PayPal?
This is an option we are considering but due to the transactions all being dollar based we will only utilise this payment method if demand justifies it. Should you wish to make use of PayPal please contact us to let us know of your interest in this method of payment on [email protected].
What payment gateway is being used by FIXXR?
We make use of PayFast and Yoco as our preferred payment gateways. They offer top-notch payment options, secure transactions and awesome support.

How do FIXXR's work with FIXXR?
FIXXR is a network of expert mobile mechanics (or FIXXR’s as we refer to them). Independent mechanics apply to join our network. Every mechanic goes through an extensive screening process that includes background, criminal, and reference checks. Once approved, mechanics are booked for jobs through FIXXR.
Your service agreement is with FIXXR, not the individual mechanic. Although you are provided the service by the mechanics in our network, we stand behind the service 100%. How are the FIXXR's screened?
FIXXR’s are screened through a two step process:
Step 1: We perform a background check, skills check, and one-on-one interview with the FIXXR. About 5-10% of the FIXXR’s who apply are approved.
Step 2: If the FIXXR passes the screening process, we allow them to accept jobs from customers. Our FIXXR’s are rated by the customer after every job to ensure the highest service standards are upheld. Should a FIXXR not uphold the required standards of quality workmanship and awesome customer service they will be removed from the platform.
Are the FIXXR's certified?
Most of our FIXXR’s are certified or have extensive dealer or factory training. You can also review their experience, work history, jobs completed for other car owners and real customers’ ratings and reviews. We take pride in being totally transparent.
How do I get a mechanic who specializes in my car (Honda, Ford, BMW etc.)?
When confirming your appointment we will ensure you are matched with a FIXXR who is qualified to work on your car. Many of our FIXXR’s have dealer or factory training with certain brands. Some of them have years of experience working on certain types of cars (e.g. German cars, domestic cars, etc). You can see their particular strengths and expertise on their profiles, as well as reviews from previous customers who own the same make of car as yours.
