What is a 50 Point General Inspection

The 50 Point General Inspection is a comprehensive health check designed to give you a 360-degree view of your vehicle’s current condition. Rather than waiting for something to break, this service proactively examines critical systems to ensure they are operating at optimal levels. Our certified and trained mechanics look deep under the hood and beneath the car to identify minor leaks, worn belts, or aging components that could eventually lead to expensive breakdowns. In South Africa's varied driving conditions, this inspection serves as a vital safety net for any vehicle owner.

Keep in mind:

The vehicle will be assigned various ratings indicating any issues that were identified by our mobile mechanics, which allows you to quickly determine how your vehicle stacks up with other similar vehicles.

Importance of Regular Inspections of a Car

Regular inspections of a car are crucial to keep your vehicle running smoothly and preventing costly repairs down the road. Fixxr’s 50 Point General Inspection offers a thorough examination of your vehicle’s critical components, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Our certified and trained mechanics inspect your car’s fluids and hoses, belts, brakes, suspension parts, batteries, and other important elements during the inspection of a car, identifying minor issues before they turn into significant problems.

How it's done

  1. Under the Hood: The mechanic meticulously checks all fluid levels (oil, coolant, brake, steering) and inspects the condition of hoses and belts for cracks or leaks.
  2. Electrical System: The battery is tested for its "state of health" and charging ability, along with a check of all interior and exterior lights.
  3. Brakes & Tyres: A visual inspection of brake pad thickness, disc condition, tyre tread depth, and overall tyre health (including the spare).
  4. Suspension & Underbody: The car is inspected for worn shocks, ball joints, and any signs of leaks from the transmission or differential.
  5. Filters & Safety: Air filters, cabin filters, and wiper blades are checked, along with essential safety items like seat belts and hooters.
  6. Road Test: A brief drive is often conducted to evaluate the engine performance, transmission smoothness, and steering alignment.

What to expect

  • This service typically takes approximately one hour to complete. You will receive a detailed digital Inspection Report where each of the 50 points is assigned a rating. These ratings allow you to see exactly which parts are in "Good" condition and which ones require "Attention" or "Urgent" replacement. This system helps you prioritize your maintenance budget and allows you to see how your vehicle stacks up against similar models
